PURWOKERTO – Nidy Nauradhiyalevi, a 6th semester student of English Education at the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) has successfully passed the selection of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program.

This program is part of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology.

Nidy explained that she had participated in the preparations for IISMA 2021 but her TOEFL score did not meet the requirements.

“Actually, I have taken part in the preparations for IISMA 2021 and attended the TOEFL class held by the BUI (Biro Urusan Internasional) UMP and LDC (Language Development Center). However, my TOEFL results did not meet the requirements to register for IISMA and were directed to ICT at that time,” she said.

Not giving up, Nidy continued, she was not satisfied because she was not accepted into the IISMA 2021 program, so she decided to continue her struggle by taking part in the selection held by the blue campus and finally passed.

“After IISMA 2021, I was not satisfied and continued to IISMA 2022. Then I took part in the selection held by the campus and finally passed. Next, I took an intensive IELTS class held by BUI and LDC. Thank God, because the lecturers who teach are very helpful so that I can pass the internal campus selection stage and can be financed for the IELTS test in Jogja with an average score of 6.5, I can register and pass IISMA in 2022,” she continued.

Nidy expressed her joy and fear because she had passed IISMA 2022 and was placed at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. “Honestly, I feel very happy and scared because it’s the first time I’m studying abroad offline and I’m alone,” she said.

Nidy also expressed her desire to go abroad since she first entered PBI UMP.

“Surely, to be honest, from the beginning of entering the PBI UMP, I really wanted to join the exchange. You can attend lectures there, then from IISMA there is something called the IISMA challenge, that is, we hold an event to introduce Indonesian culture and other activities.” she said.
